UGANDA: Border cattle raids leave dozens dead

Politicians from the counties of Bukwa and Suam reported that 28 people were killed and thousands displaced when a group of Pokot cattle raiders from across the border attacked four villages on April 11. One member of Parliament, Steven Chebrot, claims that 200 homes were burned and thousands of cattle stolen. He and others are calling for increased security along the border, where there is a long history of raids.
