The director of Aram Publishing company was on trial in Istanbul this week for publishing a Turkish translation of Noam Chomsky’s essays last year, one of which focuses on the human rights abuses committed by the Turkish government against its Kurdish population. The defendant was acquitted when Noam Chomsky appeared in court alongside him asking to be tried as well.
