THAILAND: Thousands of Hmong refugees to resettle in Minnesota

Over 14,000 Hmong living at the Wat Tham Krabok refugee camp in the Saraburi province northeast of Bangkok are preparing to relocate to St. Paul, Minnesota, a town that already boasts 25,000 Hmong, more than 10 percent of its current population. St. Paul’s Mayor Randy Kelly was greeted warmly during a recent visit to Wat Tham Krabok and said that this was an excellent first step towards reconciling longstanding Hmong grievances linked to the 1970s U.S. conflicts in South Asia.
