An appeals court in southern Sudan has overturned the Shari’a-based sentence of a pregnant Dinka teen accused of adultery. According to the Islamic law, she was to be stoned to death. The initial trial was conducted in Arabic, which the Christian defendant does not speak, and she was not provided with legal representation.
