This week students from all over Catalan are demonstrating and striking to display their firm opposition to education reforms. The new conservative Spanish government wishes to reform the education system, endangering unique cultural components of curricula, including languages and customs of a variety of ethnic groups. The Students' Platform for Language called a meeting and asked that the former certification of “Catalan Philology Graduation” for trained teachers and professors be enforced once again.
