A coalition of environmental and human rights activists in Washington D.C. has produced a letter to the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) requesting that funding of the Camisea project should be delayed until the project conforms to all social and environmental loan conditions. Critics of the Camisea project state that it is paving the way for the destruction of untouched rainforests and indigenous people living in isolation.
