Due to heavy deforestation and land settlement in their traditional homeland, the previously uncontacted Ayoreo peoples have come out of voluntary isolation. The 17 peoples of the Ayoreo are requesting access to water and the demarcation of their lands to protect against further encroachment by cattle ranchers.
