In its 60th Session, The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has proposed that the Nepalese government and the Maoist Communist Party of Nepal sign an accord allowing an inquiry into alleged human rights violations by both parties. In addition, the commission seeks support in creating an office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Nepal to provide technical assistance to the NHRC in monitoring and investigations, as well as human rights training to the police, the army, and the judiciary.
