The Minister of Land Reform and Management, Badri Narayan Basnet, has expressed frustration with various NGOs that have claimed that the government has yet to rehabilitate over 20,000 Kamaiyas – who have been freed from bondage. The minister announced that the government has already rehabilitated and resettled all Kamaiyas, and that NGOs are only playing politics by accusing the government of neglect. The Kamaiyas continue to await resettlement and are threatening action if there is no justice.
