ECUADOR: Indigenous groups still hopeful for ChevronTexaco case

Despite the appointment of a new president to overhear evidence in the ChevronTexaco case, indigenous activists and representatives remain optimistic for the outcome of the trial. If successful, the case will set a major legal precedent by forcing ChevronTexaco to clean and remediate contamination caused by 26 years of oil operations in the Ecuadorian Amazon.
