Despite the Colombian government’s attempts to stop illegal excavations of archeological sites, many grave robbers are carrying away scared ancient indigenous artifacts. It is estimated that in the city of Santa Marta alone, there are some 200 grave robbers making a living by desecrating pre-Columbian archeological sites.
