Over 500 hundred indigenous people living in the rural areas of Arauca have been displaced due to an armed strike called by Colombia’s two largest guerrilla armies, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and the National Liberation Army (ELN). Curfews have been called, blockades have been placed on all roads coming through the area, and electricity towers have been destroyed. The communities’ supplies are reported to be extremely low.
