CANADA: Inuit infants vulnerable to pollutants

A Quebec research team has found a connection between pollutants in the Arctic and child health problems in Nunavik. The team measured the levels of airborne chemicals such as DDT and PCBs in the blood of pregnant Inuit women, revealing a link to respiratory illness in children after birth. The study was presented at the International Congress of Circumpolar Health on Sunday, September 14.
