Canadian natives on Turtle Island are fighting to combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic; in particular, the Metis Nation has just published new safety information about the disease. The Metis people are recognized as Canadian aboriginals, but do not receive the health coverage offered to the Inuit and Indians.
