A federal judge has suspended the provisional license conceded by the Brazilian environmental agency IBAMA to Petrobras for the construction of the Urucu-Porto Velho pipeline. In addition, the judge ruled that the Institute for Environmental Protection in Amazonas should be responsible for licensing the Coari-Manaus pipeline. Petrobras will now have to follow 14 recommendations made by the Public Ministry in relation to the Environmental Impact Study the company presented.
