The environmental group Conservation International recently announced the launch of a new joint ecotourism venture with Wilderness Safaris and the Bukakhwe San community in northeast Botswana. The project is designed to provide alternative income for the San through means that strengthen and respect their traditional culture. Program’s revenues will reduce pressure on local wildlife. The project is 100% owned by the San, and all proceeds will go towards community development projects.
