Bolivia's President redistributes land to Indigenous peoples

As indigenous groups around the world are embroiled in political battles to maintain control of tribal lands, the indigenous groups of Bolivia have been granted additional land rights.  Evo Morales, the first indigenous person to serve as president of Bolivia, has seized land from the country's largest landowners and transferred ownership to indigenous groups.  The effort received majority support in a national referendum and aims to unite citizens.  The reaction of the large scale landowners to the decision may be seen in the coming weeks.  Additionally the effect of the new land holdings on the 36 indigenous groups will reveal itself over time.  You can read the full BBC article here.
