BANGLADESH: Chakma tribesmen killed in armed clashes

At least four members of Chakma indigenous group of Bangladesh were killed in armed clashes between the PCJSS, an organization that supports government’s peace treaty and the UPDF, an underground tribal party that opposes the treaty. The treaty was signed in 1997 ending hostilities over the demand for a separate tribal territory in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
