The economic division between the Aboriginal population and the rest of society might cause Darwin, the northern Australian city, to become one of the world’s most violent cities. Jon Tippett, a prominent criminal lawyer, said “Darwin is surrounded by (Aboriginal) communities that offer little future for people who live in them by way of participating in the broader community.”
