A CD-ROM that is set to be released in August will help improve communication between doctors and Aboriginal patients in East Arnhem Land. The CD, an initiative of the Northern Territory Remote Health Workforce Agency, features medical terminology in the Yolgnu language. The hope is that increased communication will lead to better treatment of Yolgnu patients, who make up 58% of the region’s population.
