In Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, a curriculum used by two secondary schools has introduced an unprecedented course in the Western Armenian language. The curriculum is part of a plan that envisions large-scale growth for the language, with Western Armenian taught at a greater number of schools. The Union for Protection of the Armenian Language, based in Paris, has spearheaded the planning and funding efforts. The French Armenian community is currently helping to raise funds for the project.
