The Spokane Tribe is asking Congress for tens of millions of dollar compensation for destruction of lands and salmon runs caused by the Grand Coulee Dam. The neighboring Colville Confederated Tribes received $53 million from Congress in 1994 for the damage – an amount that the Spokane people feel they deserve to have at least matched.
