Indigenous members of the community of Escalerilla Lagunas, of the municipality of Zapotitlan Tablas, protested yesterday in front of the Governors Palace to demand punishment for those responsible for a military led massacre of peasants, and compensation for those left widowed by the event, including 30 orphaned children. The protesters are members of the Agrarian Revolutionary League of the South Emiliano Zapata (Larsez) who assert that the Justice system of the state has granted a form of immunity to those members of the military responsible for the massacre.
