MEXICO: World Bank loans to assist indigenous caretakers of forestland

The World Bank approved a $324.3 million loan on December 9 to modernize irrigation systems in Mexico and help indigenous peoples better manage their forests. The indigenous communities who will receive assistance inhabit the regions of Guerrero, Oaxaca, Jalisco, Quintana Roo, Michoacan, and Durango.
