ECUADOR: Project launched to provide mapping tools for indigenous peoples

AMAZONGISNET, a project which aims to provide the indigenous peoples of the Ecuadorian Amazon with the tools to map their territories and resources, was launched by Dr. Richard Resl, an Austrian cartographer, with the support of The Pachamama Alliance. Indigenous technicians will be trained to use GPS hardware in order to facilitate conservation efforts and territory claims.
