The Foundation for Endangered Languages (FEL) held the seventh annual conference in Broome, Western Australia – September 22-24. This year’s theme was “Maintaining the Links: Language, Identity and the Land.” The conference focused on the important role indigenous languages play in issues of cultural identity, subsistence, and land rights. Case studies of indigenous language documentation and revitalization were also presented.
