The Navajo have expressed concerns over a proposed energy bill that would cut billions of dollars in taxes for industries providing nuclear power, coal, oil, and natural gas. By implementing the bill the government hopes to create jobs in the energy sector, however, Navajo President Joe Shirley Jr. says it does not account for environmental impacts on Navajo land.
