Hopi and Dineh youth are collaborating with a variety of organizations to host the All People’s Power Summit: Building Communities of Hope, Strength, and Sustainability, which will take place at the sacred San Francisco Peaks in Arizona from July 15 to July 18. The summit will be a cross-cultural, cross-generational exchange with workshops, discussions, dance, hip hop, and poetry to engage youth and develop community leadership. Agenda items range from rainwater harvesting to prison abolition. Winona LaDuke will be the keynote speaker. Organizations involved include the Black Mesa Water Coalition, Save the Peaks Coalition, and Indigenous Environmental Network.
