Taiwan Premier Frank Hsieh delivered a 32-inch liquid crystal display (LCD) television to the Taiyuan Elementary School in Taiyuan Village, Taidong County, on September 28. The presentation to the predominantly indigenous student body initiated a government program to purchase LCD televisions for 422 elementary schools in indigenous areas. The program is intended to help indigenous communities access the all-indigenous television network that the government launched July 1.
