Two Roma rights organizations, in conjunction with Amnesty International, have filed a motion against Slovakia’s police force for their treatment of Roma protesters, who have been rioting in response to recent welfare cuts. During a press conference, members of the organizations accused the police of breaking both Slovak laws and European human rights laws by using unnecessary force and unlawfully detaining protestors.
