From the end of July through the beginning of August, tundra-dwellers will revel in their largest annual celebration, the Reindeer Festival. The festival shall take place in all areas inhabited by reindeer herders, including the Krasnoe, Nelmin-Nos, Horei-Ver, Harut, Ust-Kar, Indiga, Hongura, Karaitak, Kotkino, Om, Nes and Verhnyi Pes peoples, as well as in Nomad camps. The “reindeer games” will include competitions and “outdoor merrymaking,” and an appearance by the deputy governor.
