On April 11, RAIPON appealed the actions of NK Rosneft-Sakhalinmorneftegas," a joint stock company conducting unapproved seismic prospecting in the Nyiski Bay area. The prospecting involved explosives and incurred damage to the region’s environment. The company will proceed with their project but promises to change policy to afford future consultation.
