A group of Nordic journalists spent the weekend of June 30th in the Nenets Autonomous District. The sojourn included a trip to the Ardalin oilfield, where the journalists spoke with executives from operating oil companies in the region. Spokesmen claimed to be using the most environmentally friendly technology known to Russia and to be respecting the traditional lifestyles of the Nenets. Reports from Raipon exhibit a slightly different sentiment.
