After overcoming a series of setbacks, the Maori Television Service will begin broadcasting Sunday, March 28. Viewers will be brought news about current affairs and sports, as well as comedy, drama, and educational programming in a mix of Maori and English languages, each with subtitles. The network’s aims to revitalize and preserve te reo me nga tikanga (Maori language and culture).
