MEXICO: Indigenous groups meet to review Free Trade Agreement

Organizations from 26 American countries met on August 23-24 to review the terms and conditions of the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas (ALCA). The 73 organizations in attendance included peasant and indigenous representatives, as well as political parties and journalists. The goal of the forum was to determine a common objective to unite against the imposition of hegemonic decisions that affect those with the least representation in governmental trade agreements.
