The indigenous community of Chenalho, Chiapas has detained 35 soldiers in an effort to make the military take responsibility for the damage done to a road leading to their small mountain village. Negotiations for the release of the soldiers took place on September 6, resulting in the military’s acknowledgement of the damage done and agreement to make the necessary repairs.
