The recently formed Commission of Inquiry by the National Commission on Human Rights will investigate human rights violations, including unlawful detainment, torture, and property destruction, allegedly committed in Wamena and Wasior (West Papua). The success of the Commission, however, is contingent upon full cooperation of Indonesian authorities.
