After losing two islands, Sipadan and Ligitan, to Malaysia, Indonesia has created a plan to stymie other countries from claiming more territory in the future. The proposed program consists of resettling approximately 300,000 families from densely populated areas to the eighty-eight uninhabited border islands over the next six years.
