Several Kerala government officials have been accused of clearing out the forests in the Idukki district. Such actions are being justified in the name of the Adivasis. The Adivasi leaders have denounced these claims on their behalf, saying that their communities have lost the land to the people from the plains and now the latter are posing as Adivasi saviors.
