About 200 Adivasi villagers fasting in protest of the Maan dam project were evicted by 400 police officers on June 20. The villagers, some of whom have lodged complaints that their cash and jewelry were looted by police, were relocated from the village of Khedi-Balwadi to camps at Aamkheda and Kesur, 40 and 70 kilometers away, respectively. One child and six women were injured by police officers during the eviction.
