The sixth general assembly of the Amerindian Peoples Association (APA) was held from May 25th to the 27th, and succeeded in passing 24 new resolutions, which addressed issues ranging from land rights to youth representation. The assembly also urged the full participation of Amerindian peoples in the current rewriting of the Amerindian Act and promoted amendments which would address the rights of Amerindian women.
