7,200 hectares of land have been occupied by hundreds of indigenous families protesting against illegal policies pursued by the Guatemalan government. The indigenous peoples, supported by The National Organization of Indigenous and Farmers (CONIC), claim the right to provide for themselves from those lands, as long as the law is upheld.
