Many urban Aboriginals have not heard of the AFN, despite its role as the largest political organization representing First Nations people. One urban Aboriginal man was quoted saying “whatever they [the AFN] do over there doesn’t affect us.” The disconnect between urban and rural Aboriginals is viewed as an example of the AFN’s shortcomings.
