Hydro Quebec has announced that it will not construct power dams in Nunavik, home to the Inuit, the Naskapi, and the Cree, for the next 20-25 years. Their decision is based on ground studies conducted on four rivers in Northern Quebec and Canadian laws protecting two of the rivers where salmon spawn.
