The new grand chief of the Deh Cho first nation of Canada’s Northwest Territories announced recently that his people want benefits from the Mackenzie Valley pipeline if it is to run through their territory. Chief Herb Norwegian specified that his tribe intends to seek jobs and monetary compensation for the right to build pipelines on Deh Cho land.
