The two-day World Traditional Arts Festival, held in Tokyo, Japan, which opened in January, included for the first time a Garifuna dance troop from Belize. Garifuna dance, music, and language have been declared by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
