An Aboriginal group in far North Queensland, the Gugu Badhun, has signed a land use agreement with Kagara Zinc, which will allow zinc mining in exchange for a range of benefits. ABC reports close interaction between the two parties prior to the agreement: the Gugu Badhun were closely involved in exploring and demarcating the lands, comprising a 1,200 hectare area near Greenvale.
