The International Working Group on Indigenous Affairs, based in Copenhagen, Denmark, released the 2004 edition of The Indigenous World in May during the third session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues. The edition outlines the crucial issues and events of 2003 that impacted indigenous populations. It provides updated information on the conditions of most of the indigenous world and on international and regional processes involving indigenous peoples. IWGIA produces The Indigenous World in collaboration with indigenous and non-indigenous organizations, scholars, and activists.
