Indigenous students at the high school of Telesecundaria de Abrojo Montezuma are working with school officials to earn small amounts of money (enough for bus fare) in exchange for removing trash on the streets of the commercial zone of Paso Canoas. The collaboration serves both the students and their families, for whom even a little money can make a big difference in alleviating their poverty, and the community by beautifying the streets and making the town more appealing to residents and tourists alike.
