A new Health Canada initiative to more closely monitor prescription drug use has been criticized for its privacy implications. Native Canadians are being asked to sign a consent form that many say makes their health records available with far too few safeguards and limitations. One critic claimed that former Canadian Health Minister Allan Rock, had said he would personally never sign such a form. A Health Canada spokesperson denied that the consent forms violated privacy.
